A pre-eminent scientist and technocrat specialising in the field of graphite, graphene and mineral processing technologies, Dr. SK Biswal is the winner of various awards including the CISR Technology Award (2017), presented by his excellency the President of India. Dr. Biswal has 12 national & international patents in his individual capacity, has led and completed 165 mineral processing technology projects for companies like JSW Steel, Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel, Tata Steel BSL, Tirupati Graphite and many more, has had 80 papers published in SCI journals and developed commercialised technologies for low and lean grade complex phase mineral ores. He has worked extensively on the development of graphene manufacturing technology and its application in metal & polymer composites, aluminum smelting and coatings. Dr. Biswal voluntarily retired as the Chief Scientist after 32 years of service at the Indian Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology, a premier research institute by the Govt of India under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research post which he joined the Company in March 2021.
